Experimentation

I have experimented presenting my work within a natural organic habitat to capture a sense of tranquillity reflecting the nature of life. I feel this surrounding has the ability to grow, therefore reflects the developing fetus. Using the stability of the tree, has created a strength suggestive of the womb which gathers the amniotic fluid bag within.

I have suspended the pieces from a dominant tree, which is highlight a sense of strength and wisdom reflecting the life cycle. The natural environment captures the surface of the knitting creating a sense of movement creating a sense of fluidity suggestive to the amniotic fluid.

I found this interesting as it highlights a delicate natural growth amongst the habitat and captures a flesh like quality and texture.

I have captured the subject from different angles, to visualize it as a whole. The tree is positioned dominating the subject here as it stands forward in perspective shielding the delicacy.

I experimented with this piece, leaving the subject behind to document the natural environment, the growth and changes within time. Unfortunately the Jar was removed, therefore someone may have took it, carrying on its journey, reflecting a sense of growth.

I find the perspective within this piece interesting as the natural habitat dominates the picture plane, suggestive to the life cycle, the inevitable of life. The tree is a strong barrier holding onto the pieces which supporting the intricate subjects, as they are no longer in focus, this reflect the inner body, how you can only see the outside.

(Yarn, Sweets, Pva and Water)

I have experimenting suspending this cocoon like sculpture made out of sweets which childlike to capture organic media, holding on to it, almost projecting it to reflect my conceptual interest.
I have layered Pva Glue to create a uncomfortable texture, revolting the viewer which is technique of disguise. The knitting intertwines with this piece, creating a blanket to surround it and holding as a support highlighting protection.

The natural movement creates a sense of nostalgia and calmness, its surreal and almost comforting. The materials I have used are soft and delicate creating a homely element, suggestive to a sense of protection. The notion of the knitting has highlighted an essence of fluidity capturing a organic feeling.

I find this photograph interesting as it has captured the installation within a different perspective, I feel is suggestive to  warmth and support surrounding the sensitive subject, as the viewer doesn't intrude, I feel the pieces are welcoming the viewer due to the blanket in a close perspective almost reaching out to the audience.
