Hannah Ward explores human unease, through a spiritual energy focusing on mysteries with the natural world, the folklore, mythology, ghost stories and religious beliefs. I find the use of materials Ward has used within her work, as I feel the wax within the subject creates a distortion,  the layered marks of wax have almost created an organic feel to the subject, which looks like a fleshy substance.
